Anthony Westcott - Imaginary Discography
A.W.'s
latest release is a decadent hodgepodge of bristling rock songs delivered
in the spirit of the moment, as these homecooked songs were often recorded
as soon as a composition was deemed complete.
Humor is on tap in the 14-verse ode to necrophilia, "I Like 'Em Dead" or the cheeky liner notes, which contain an actual imaginary discography. At other times, Mr. Westcott is snarling and hateful (the distorted, overloaded "acoustic" guitars of "Strip Mall Retail Robot").
This album's a schizophrenic episode capped off with a disco anthem and a blissful ode to insomnia. Nice job.
