guitar and vocal versions of songs at Destructopuss
Studios in Northampton, MA.
Song selection touches on many highlights of the Vais canon from a romp through the Nag Nag Nag chestnut "A Get Well Party" to a reverent cover of Guided By Voices' "Learning To Hunt."
Best of all is the inclusion of "Accident Airlines" and "Rosie," the two sides of Vais' single release on the Papercuts Cassettes record label in 1998; these two solemn tracks alone faithfully capture Vais' strengths as a solo singer/songwriter, calling to mind folks like Elliot Smith or E of The Eels. Nice job.
