crafted from elegant simplicity, the songs of Lesa Bezo and her group The
Fawns settle into a musical armchair we'll call "twanglepop."
The strongest essence is a gentle 1950s countryrock amble married to sweetly poignant and honest ruminations on romance delivered by Bezo's organic vocals.
However,
as the tracks pass by, aromas of shimmering reverbed guitars, spunky new
wave flavors and boy/girl pop bounce all are blended into the mix.
Lush steel guitar here recalls Cowboy Junkies, a hooky melodic couplet one part wit/one part heartbreak equals Jonathan Richman there. This album can be your soundtrack to a blissful yet contemplative summer day. And should be, for quite a few.
