"I can't believe it's already been three years since the release of Henning Goes To The Movies. It just doesn't seem possible. I still think of it as my new album. Time is gross.
In preparation for this birthday I listened back to the whole album the other day while strolling through this New England autumn. I was very relieved to discover that I am still proud of this record.
I'm glad, because I did put a lot of care into the writing and production of the thing. I like the way it sounds. I like the way it comes across as one cohesive expression rather than just a collection of songs. And I like the songs. I think they are some of my best.
October 14, 2014 is the third birthday of this album but I don't really believe that the passage of time has anything much to do with music. It doesn't matter if a song is new or old. A song is a song and it is new the first time you hear it and it's new again the first time you notice something different that you hadn't noticed before.
It doesn't matter when a song is from, just where it's coming from. These songs came from a good place, I think and that's why I'm still proud of them.
Thanks for listening."
