You know when you read about a great band that broke up seemingly way too soon and you say to yourself, "why couldn't have they just taken a deep breath and held it together just a bit longer? When I find myself thinking that, I recall my experience in Sourpuss. June 1994-June 1995. One year, dozens of shows, dozens of songs, scores of fans, hundreds of practices, a couple of big, catastrophic rifts. That's all, folks.

Born in Hadley when we all had part-time jobs, cheap rents, a rehearsal shed at our disposal, a very democratic band (everyone was contributing songs) and lots of free time, it was all too good to last. In a perfect world, we would have hit the road and toured our young asses off and become more than just a tiny entry in SpinArt's mail order catalog.

The three songs contained on this 7" single are the band's only real recorded output. A damn shame. Recorded when the band was only 2 months old, we only got better. Faster. Tighter. If you like XTC's "White Music", the Buzzcocks' "Singles Going Steady" and other perfect jagged pop played way too fast, you'll dig this.

Where are they now? You know all about Ken and me.My sister Alyssa pursued higher education and momhood. Todd? Todd? File him in the same drawer as the La's lead singer. A legend who comes up in conversation occasionally among those who knew him, but who no one can track down. Phone home.

Rub Wrongways fought for and bought the rights and now proudly presents...Sourpuss!
