If you've never heard Humbert before, start with "The Great White Lunchroom." It's a better album than this long-form EP in every sense. That said, there are a number of gems hidden in this uneven set. Ari Vais contributes a few of his classic songs in "Time Sweats" and "Drown" and rocks out on "Alkie," which made its way into an infamous straight-to-video indie film we'd rather not discuss here. For his part, Anthony Westcott mines his then-fascination with all things Mould to varying degrees of success but comes up aces with a furious blast of hardcore glory on "Mallcop!" which, coupled with the deathless favorite "Beautiful Lesbian" makes this album worth the price of admission. Nice work. But as we said, start with "The Great White Lunchroom." You like? Then jump on this one, too. G'head.
